Registrations are open for the International Canoe Sprint Regatta
in Auronzo di Cadore (Dolomites, Italy).
This July will see the official Test Event for the Junior and Under23 World Championships which will held on Lake Santa Caterina in the summer of 2023

The annual International Canoe Sprint Regatta in Auronzo di Cadore celebrated its 40th edition last year, and now opens this new “decade” with the important Test Event that will lead the way to the much-awaited Junior and U23 World Championships in 2023.

Lake Santa Caterina in Auronzo di Cadore (Dolomites, Italy) will host the 41st edition of the International Canoe Sprint Regatta from Friday 8 to Sunday 10 July 2022. This year it will be completely aimed at the youth categories Under 16, Junior and Under U23. The competition programme includes heats, semifinals and finals over the distance of 1,000 metres, 500 metres. and 200 metres and the direct finals for the distance of 5000 metres.

Lake Santa Caterina was already the stage of the Junior and U23 European Championships in 2018. The preparation works of the competition area for the 2023 World Championships have been underway since 2020, even with the inevitable and important delays caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The 2022 edition of the International Regatta will be the Test Event for the 2023 World Championships.

“The Municipality of Auronzo already hosted the European Canoe Sprint Championships in 2018 with great success, and obtained the ICF 2023 Under 23 and Junior Sprint Canoe World Championships. We are so proud to be able to propose a traditional event for our lake of Santa Caterina such as the International Canoe Sprint Regatta”, Tatiana Pais Becher, Mayor of Auronzo, says. The Auronzo Municipality shares the path towards the 2023 Junior and U23 World Championships with the Italian Canoe Kayak Federation (FICK), and Venice Canoe & Dragon Boat asd – a club that has been organising the International Sprint Regatta since 2008.
